The choice of actual connectors has never been greater. Some decisions will depend upon the need to match existing thread styles in a system. At other times you will have the freedom to make your choices. These may be based on personal preference, or the need to ensure that the correct choice of style that meets the application need such as very high pressures.
Equally your choice may be made on the basis of the need for an imperial system or metric system. Alternatives to these are also many. Japanese or French style variants may be chosen. Or the choice may also be made on the basis of combining flexible with rigid piping and the thread or connection system could dictate your best path.
Within each system are a wide range of actual fitting styles. From the straightforwrd male | female combinations to the selection of elbows to facilitate the best installation practice. Flanges with split flange connectors are often used for high pressure dynamic systems. These are usually dictated by such as the hydraulic pump connections as designed in by the manufactuer.
You may have the need for items such as a special connector for a high pressure washer application,or where close proximity to flat surfaces demand the use of a banjo with a through bolt.
